Having recently come back from my travels in Rome and with the stresses of voting in the Referendum, I already feel like I need another break. A staycation is a great idea to explore more of our own country and celebrate being British. Afternoon Tea has got to be one of my favourite options and staying at Classic British Hotels has a real traditional feel to it. Why not also embrace the Alice in Wonderland theme of staying in a grand manor, exploring the beautiful gardens the hotels have to offer as well as indulging in tea time.
For the perfect chapter run down of how you can utilise the hotels in an Alice theme check out this blog post. As I love the story and the new film just realised I wanted to share great Alice ideas from fashion, food and hotel.
1. The staycation:
The hotels that have amazing grounds and gardens are best in my opinion, because you can soak in the views, fresh air and get a real sense of grandeur after eating an afternoon tea. there is something very British about have an afternoon walk and we all know from the story of Alice she explores many gardens (especially the Queen of Hearts). The Darling Hall Hotel in Devon, Deans Place Country House and Gliffaes Country House Hotel Brecon Beacons are all amazing options of hotels (as you can see in the photos)!
2. Fashion.
Get the perfect Alice look fit for a British manor house and posh afternoon tea. I love dressing in a feminine tea dress and at this time of year pastel hues are always a win, so I chose a selection of blue tones for you to have a look at to get the look:
