On Saturday I had one of the best days I have had in a long time. All thanks to the lovely Lisa who I met a couple of weeks ago at the Southampton Blog meet up, her blog is
topaz and May. We discovered that we only live 5 minutes from each other so it was obvious we were going to stay in touch as we hit it off after being travel buddies on the day. So on Saturday we met for lunch in Portsmouth’s Gunwarf, we ate delicious steak sandwiches and browsed the shops. We intended on window shopping and ended up spending money we said we didn’t have but was really fun and worth every penny. Fair to say I have made a lovely new friend who has a beautiful blog, so go check it out.

On the day I wanted to try out this new cheek and lip tint I was sent to review via Glo Minerals. I was drawn to it after starting work and my usual lipstick fading within half an hour of talking to customers and running around. So I thought I would give this a try! Below are some before and after photos. It is quite a sticky product but when it sinks into the lips it becomes a lot dryer and sort of looks a bit patchy at first, I put on a couple of coats. In the past with lip tints they are usually more of a red shade whereas this has a lot more pinks to it which i quite liked. As a stain it didn’t last as long as I was hoping, probably 2 hours on my lips before I had to re apply. However, I really liked the look of it on my cheeks and it lasted most of the day. so in the future I will most likely use it for a blush while I’m working or going out for the day. Have any of you tried it, what did you think?

One thing I love about meeting bloggers is they know what it feels like to appreciate the smaller details. Funnily enough me and Lisa both ended up wearing bird print items of clothing but they were quite different. My dress is from Chicwish and is very girly, mixing pastel colours and vintage birds. The fit is lovely and the skirt is in between a skater and a line which I think is really sweet. I wore it with a thin pale blue cardie from Primark, grey tights and my beloved Topshop sandals. This sort of outfit is perfect in my eyes and what I am drawn to on most days. Mixing girly and vintage styles is what I know and tend to stick too. And of course, Chicwish are my favorite online store, which I have mentioned a fair few times on my blog! If you haven’t already you really need to check them out.

any way, thanks again Lisa for a lovely day and for being a bad influence on each other buying pretty things!
